A Historical Journey

Islamic History

Every living nation rises and thrives based on spiritual, cultural, intellectual, and historical elements. It is through the creation and preservation of those elements that a nation ensures its existence and continuity. If we examine the history of the Arabs, we will see that they have emerged, progressed, and achieved a high status based on certain elements, and the sole source of those elements was “Islam.” In other words, it is after embracing the religion of Islam that the Arab nation has gained significant and esteemed positions in history. In the early seventh century, the birthplace of the Arabs, the Arabian Peninsula (known as Jaziratul Arab), witnessed the manifestation of Islam. Islam arrived, abolished idolatry and idol worship, and shattered their statues into pieces.

“And Islam is the path to liberate the Arabs from the chains of idolatry and Hell. Islam liberates them from the bondage of tribalism and regionalism.

Islam’s contribution is undeniable. In the light of Islam, the Arab nation finds knowledge, intellect, and enlightenment. They are illuminated in body and soul by the light of Islam. As a result, they surrender themselves exclusively to the worship and devotion of the one and only Lord, Allah, who has no partners. The reason behind this transformation of the Arabs is that Islam has given them a new existence and framework and has united them in such a society where unity, generosity, tolerance, brotherhood, and justice prevailed under the leadership of a just society. Mutual harmony, tolerance, brotherhood, and justice guided this society.

Previously, the Arabs were engulfed in ignorance, immorality, and the darkness of idolatry and had deviated from the path. They were a misguided community.”

Islamic Awakening
Around 1,450 years ago, in the birthplace of Arabia, the prophet Hazrat Muhammad proclaimed his message and invitation. This invitation was for the guidance and direction of all humanity, and to instill faith and belief in the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, the guardian of the world. The call of the noble Messenger was to unite all nations into one, eradicating any divisions based on lineage or regional prejudices.

We will not forget that Islam, due to its various characteristics and uniqueness, occupies a superior and dominant position in the world compared to other religions. Just as this religion organizes and strengthens the relationship between humans and the Lord, it also establishes a well-structured and strong bond of brotherhood among humans.

Similarly, Islam harmonizes and strengthens the relationship between individuals and the state. Due to the application and legislation of Islam, this religion is considered as an international system and code that ensures the protection of individual and collective characteristics, as well as spiritual and moral values. It calls for unity among citizens in terms of rights, duties, and harmony.

Due to the application and laws of Islam, this religion is considered an international system and constitution that ensures the protection of individual and collective characteristics, as well as spiritual and moral values. It emphasizes rights, duties, and the call for unity among the citizens of the nation. Islam eliminates the divisions of lineage, caste, and racial discrimination and establishes justice and equality as indispensable. In this regard, the statement of our Prophet is sufficient, where he said, “There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of a white person over a black person, except through piety.”

Islam eradicates the divisions of lineage, caste, and racial discrimination among people and establishes justice and equality as inevitable. In this matter, the statement of our Prophet is sufficient, where he said, “There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of a white person over a black person, except through piety.” This means that the one who is most righteous deserves the highest respect and honor. Besides, in Islam, all individuals, whether Arab or non-Arab, with fair or dark skin, are equally worthy of respect.

Islamic Awakening: Islam has inspired good deeds, prohibited evil actions, and advocated for the help of the oppressed and persecuted. Based on these principles and ideals, the Islamic missionary activities have brought together people of different races, ethnicities, and social classes within the vast Islamic society. In the history of Islam, the propagation and expansion of Islamic missionary work in the Arabian Peninsula (Jazirat al-Arab) and the establishment of the first Islamic state in Medina during the time of the Prophet marked the first phase of Islam’s history.

In the second phase, Islam, initiated by the caliphs of Rashidun, spread beyond the borders of Arabia and achieved complete success. As a result, Islam’s rule extended to Iraq, Greater Syria, Iran, Persia, and Egypt. In the third phase, under the Umayyad rule (who had chosen Damascus as the capital of the Caliphate), victories were achieved in regions such as Turkey, Mongolia, Sindh, North Africa, and Al-Andalus. During this third phase (which lasted for about a century), the Islamic empire expanded from the eastern borders of China to the Atlantic Ocean in the west.
